“This information is incorrect.” -Guinness World Records
On March 30, 2022, Guinness shook their head and claimed the Uniteam supporters’ gathering in Ilocos Norte as the “world’s longest motorcade” as false.
The post was made by Bbm-Sara Uniteam Headquarters Northern Luzon, Crown Legacy Hotel Baguio Facebook page four days before the exchange.
Guinness is not tolerating any disinformation and/or fake news and added on Twitter, “not here to waste anyone’s time.”
This exchange between the international franchise and the Marcoses was not the first time.
Earlier this month, the world record for the “greatest robbery of a government” which was held by the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos cannot be found on the website as of March 10, 2022.
The Guinness World Records said in its website, “The government of the Philippines announced on April 23, 1986 that it had succeeded in identifying $860.8 million salted away by the former President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos (1917-89) and his wife Imelda.”
The franchise values integrity in which they aim to be “a source of reliable, accurate information”, for that reason they are carefully reviewing the entry to “ensure its accuracy,” according to Rappler.
