MANILA, Philippines — On the third time, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declined an invitation for a presidential debate.
Happening on February 27, 2022, CNN Philippines will preside a presidential debate and a day before it, is set for a vice-presidential forum. In which likewise to Bongbong’s decision, Sara Duterte will not be attending the mentioned event.
According to PhilStar, Marcos' team reportedly told the media organization that "[d]ue to the schedules we have already confirmed for the UniTeam’s campaign commitments, we are unable to accept this additional engagement at this time."
As per the reason of his declination, Bongbong's spokesperson Vic Rodriguez stated nothing. On the other hand, Bongbong will attend SMNI’s forum tomorrow (February 15,2022). SMNI is a media network owned by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Also, Sara Duterte has no statement yet why she will not be attending on February 26’s vice presidential debate.
Quiboloy is currently wanted and under watch of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) due to human trafficking charges.
