On Wednesday, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso’s running mate Dr. Willie Ong stated that Vice President Leni Robredo should not withdraw from the presidential race, opposed to the sentiments of Domagoso. 

Ong clarified on the second part of his video streamed on his Facebook, “‘Di ko siya [VP Robredo] pinapa-withdraw. Tingin ko maayos siya. Tingin ko matalino siya.” 

Last April 17 in a joint press conference arranged by presidential candidates namely Senator Ping Lacson, former defense secretary Norberto Gonzales and Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso with their vice presidential bets Dr. Willie Ong and Senate President Tito Sotto, Domagoso asked Robredo to withdraw.

Almost instantly, the occurrence drew a lot of attention from the netizens.

Despite the different stance on the issue, Ong continues to remain steadfast beside Domagoso and says, “Ang suporta ko kay Mayor Isko ay 100%. Tuloy tuloy ito hanggang May.” 

He also highlights that the relationship between them is completely okay and that he won’t switch to any camp, expressing his loyalty to his presidential bet, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso.
