Attorney Vic Rodriguez, chief of staff and spokesman for Bongbong Marcos, has had his Facebook account suspended by the social media platform.
Rodriguez claims in a statement to ABS-CBN News that his Facebook and Twitter accounts have been suspended because he is a supporter of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos.
“This is censorship of the highest degree and interference on a sovereign act." he continues to Ina Reformina, ABS-CBN News, #Halalan2022, via Twitter.
Facebook has given Rodriquez 30 days to disagree with their decision, or his account will be deleted permanently.
Facebook also tags the likes of infamous director Darryl Yap of VinCentiments and FBI’s most wanted lister and presidential spiritual adviser Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s SMNI for violation of community standards. Facebook displays a warning to social media users trying to like the pages. VinCentiments has been gaining popularity for creating videos that pits Bongbong Marcos' sister, Senator Imee Marcos, against Vice President Leni Robredo, according to media reports. Likewise, Quiboloy is known for endorsing the late dictator’s son Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte last February 1, 2022.
Various news outlets are currently reaching out to Facebook to inquire about the account suspension of Marcos’ spokesman and has received no response as of press time.
