Nograles: Wearing of face shield still required
Wearing face shield on top of face mask is still required as the country continues its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said Thursday.
Nograles made the remark after a Malacañang spokesman and a lawmaker said on Thursday after meeting with the chief executive that face shields should only be worn in hospitals.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III said Duterte made the statement during a meeting with lawmakers in Malacañang.
"Last night, the President agreed that face shields should only be used in hospitals," Sotto said in a tweet.

Manila, Butuan among top 50 champion cities in 2021 Global Mayors Challenge
The cities of Manila and Butuan have been included in the top 50 champion cities among over 600 cities worldwide in the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ 2021 Mayors Challenge. Manila and Butuan were among the eight selected cities in Asia-Pacific which made it to the global 50 and the only two cities in Southeast Asia.

Newborn baby in Bulacan goes viral after being named 'HTML'
A baby boy from Sta. Maria, Bulacan made an internet debut after he was named Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) by his parents.
Facebook user Sincerely Pascual on Friday uploaded a photo of her newborn nephew announcing his unique name on social media.
“Ang bago kong lalapirutin Hypertext Markup Language R. Pascual,” wrote the uploader.
“WELCOME TO THE WORLD, HTML,” she added.
The Facebook post has since garnered attention online with almost 9,000 reactions and 7,000 shares as of writing.

Jollibee to close down BGC branch for 3 days after ‘fried towel’ incident
Jollibee Foods Corporation closed down a branch of its fast-food chain in Bonifacio Global City for three days, after a viral video tweet showing that a deep fried towel had been served to a customer instead of fried chicken.
In a Facebook post by user Alique Perez early Wednesday started circulating online. According to Perez, she ordered fried chicken via delivery for her family.
