Typhoon Ulysses has shocked Metro Manila residents particularly in Marikina and nearby areas with massive rainfall and severe flooding. The river’s water level has risen and surpassed Ondoy’s record 11 years ago.
As of now, hundreds are stranded and many are still waiting to be rescued. A power outage is currently being experienced and houses are now submerged and certainly want to seek out a temporary shelter, and if you know someone who’s looking for it, these Metro Manila malls opened their doors for the typhoon victims.
SM SUPERMALLS
The biggest chain mall in the country has announced its duty and service for all our unfortunate kababayans who were ravaged by the storm.
On November 11, SM Supermalls announced that their Luzon malls will be open and offer shelter to stranded customers and nearby residents. And today, November 12, they shared on social media that they will be offering food, shelter, charging stations, and free parking for affected individuals.
AYALA MALLS
Earlier today, November 12, Ayala Malls announced that malls in areas affected by the typhoon will be closed today, but they will keep their doors open to offer shelter for customers who want to wait out the storm inside their malls.
ROBINSONS
Robinsons is also up to help our affected kababayan who will seek out a temporary shelter.
On social media, they announced that they will be offering temporary shelter, free overnight parking, free WiFi, and free charging of cellphones, gadgets, and rechargeable lamps.
Robinsons Malls that are open for shelter include Robinsons Magnolia, Robinsons Place Manila, and Robinsons Forum.
MEGAWORLD LIFESTYLE MALLS
Some malls under Megaworld have vowed to aid those who are affected by Typhoon Ulysses.
Eastwood City, Uptown Bonifacio, Forbes Town, Venice Grand Canal, and other Megaworld Lifestyle Malls are offering shelter to those who need it.
The mentioned mall branches will also be waiving overnight parking fees and there will be free WiFi, charging stations in selected areas, as well as lounges and bathrooms.
