Reasons for a Youtube account to be terminated, Community Guidelines

Youtube has been one of the video-sharing platforms we get to enjoy nowadays. Not just it provides entertainment and information to its users, it also provides income to its content creators and contributors. Hence, people and businesses are already inclined to utilizing the platform.

Just like any other free-access site, Youtube also has its Community Guidelines and Rules the users should abide by. These guidelines protect the safety of its community which applies to all types of content on the platform, including videos, comments, links, and thumbnails.

VIOLENT OR DANGEROUS CONTENTa

  • Harassment and cyber-bullying. Content that threatens individuals and features prolonged name-calling or malicious insults.
  • Harmful or dangerous content. Content that encourages dangerous or illegal activities that risk serious physical harm or death.
  • Hate Speech. Content that promotes hatred and violence towards individuals or groups based on age, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, race, religion, etc.
  • Violent Criminal Organizations. Content praising violent acts, or produced by violent criminal or terrorist organizations
  • Violent or graphic content. Violent or gory content, or contents encouraging others to commit violent acts.
  • COVID-19 Misinformation. Misleading and false information about COVID-19 limited to content that contradicts the World Health Organization and local health authorities.

 

REGULATED GOODS

  • Content featuring firearms. Content selling firearms and other destructive weapons, or instructing viewers on how to install it.
  • Sale of Illegal or Regulated goods. Contents selling certain regulated goods and services such as illegal drugs, alcohol, endangered species or parts of endangered species, and the likes.

 

ADDITIONAL POLICIES

  • Inactive accounts. Accounts that may found inactive overly may be reclaimed by Youtube without notice.
  • Encouraging Terms of Service violations. Content that encourages to violate the Term of Service.
  • Age requirements. Youtube confirms the user’s age and assesses if you are old enough to use the site.
