Can’t choose what movie or series to watch on Netflix? Here’s the ‘Play something’ button on the shuffle tab for your indecisive mind!

Yes, we know, you are not the only one who spends countless times choosing on what series or movies to binge-watch. Well, thanks to Netflix for dropping a new button that would help us to choose the best titles to save time.

Last August, the streaming company has been trialing a shuffle option, the “Play Something” button which created to help subscribers to select a show with zero manual input.

The new button is exclusively and currently showing up on the Netflix app for TV devices, and is located at the left-hand menu on the app.

Some reports suggest that it's not entirely random, and will still make selections based on the content you already enjoy.

In a write-up published by the Tech Crunch, Netflix told the team that the idea behind the feature is to help its members quickly and easily find content that’s tailored to their tastes.

This is a challenge Netflix has addressed over the years through a variety of features and tests, like screensavers on its TV apps, pre-roll videos, and even promotional content showcased on the home screen. 

Additionally, the streaming giant wants the experience of using Netflix to feel more like watching traditional TV—meaning you can just turn it on and something starts playing.

The latest test button was already tried by some users who have been sharing screengrabs of the feature to Twitter, while others left confused about its relevance to the app.

In a UK online news website, The Sun, it was confirmed that the feature is not yet available on mobile or tablets, and it was stated that Netflix regularly tests new features to see if they work as intended and actually improve subscribers’ experience.

Netflix has yet to make a final decision about launching the shuffle feature publicly, as it needs to first gather and collect feedback to compare the results if it’s good for the users.
