GMA-7 has made it official: Mr. M is now part of the Kapuso network!

On Tuesday morning, July 13, GMA officially announced that Johnny Manahan, popularly known as “Mr. M” signs with GMA Artist Center. This is less than a day after GMA-7 shared a cryptic post saying that a “pillar” in the Philippine Entertainment industry is “making a move,” highlighting the two “M”s.

Mr. M has been a longtime personality in the entertainment industry, working as a writer, actor, director, and manager for many talents in local showbiz. He helped build the careers of many successful celebrities today including Bea Alonzo, Piolo Pascual, Daniel Padilla, and Kathryn Bernardo.

In the midst of the ABS-CBN shutdown, Mr. M announced in September 2020 that he left his position as chairman of Star Magic. Later on, he produced a now-defunct variety show on TV5.

Some of the showbiz personalities congratulated Mr. M including actress and comedian Pokwang.

Meanwhile, Kapuso stars such as Heart Evangelista, Gabbi Garcia, Khalil Ramos, Rocco Nacino, Iya Villania and Kyline Alcantara, expressed their excitement as they welcome the newest Kapuso.

Mr. M listed Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista as the Kapuso artists he wants to work with.
