The Oscars red carpet is beaming with blue ribbons on Sunday as Hollywood stars show their support for the Ukraine refugee crisis.

The Academy Awards, once again proved that they are not just the most prestigious awards in the entertainment industry worldwide, but serves also a platform to advocate for peace during times of conflict or to bring attention to important concerns, which they’ve been doing for a long time now. On top-of-mind for this year’s event is the ongoing war crisis in Ukraine.

Among the celebrities who showed their support for the cause, Jason Momoa was seen wearing a blue and yellow scarf tucked into his suit, representing the colors of Ukraine’s flag. Further, Best Original Song nominee Diane Warren and Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung were seen walking with a blue ribbon, that tells they stand “#WithRefugees”. The stunning Jamie Lee Curtis also honored the country by tying the ribbon around her finger.

“It’s an incredibly important moment, given what’s happening in Ukraine, the displacement of human beings in the world, the exodus of human beings,” Curtis told the Associated Press.

On the front, the hashtag #WithRefugees is inscribed in yellow, combining the two colors of the Ukrainian flag. The ribbons are distributed by the UN Refugee Agency as collaboration between celebrities, which aims to bring awareness of the present refugee crisis in Ukraine as citizens escape the Russian invasion.
