All I Want Is a Baguio Trip Right Now To Free My Mind From Worries
By Jhoemz Vercide 08 May 2020 1280

I don’t know where to start but all I want is to go away from this uncertainty. Never have I imagined myself stuck in one of the corners of our house—not this kind of isolation.

Whenever I feel sad, lonely, and tired, I’m starting to see myself packing my bags as if my mind tells me to go up—to go in Baguio, my happy place, my breather.

It’s not only about the beautiful spots and views why I keep on coming back in this place. Numerous stories, heartaches, and memories have been told in this enigmatic city.

I wish I could go there now and feel the healing magic only Baguio can give. The cold breeze of air, the warm welcome of the locals, and the tasty food choices in the town; I miss everything about you…Baguio.

I miss walking around with my long jackets and boots on without asking for anyone’s approval and prejudice. Long-walks which are truly bearable is one of the many reasons why I love this haven.

Baguio is not just a place, it’s a home. I’ve been here many times and it never fails me. It transforms my baggage into something meaningful, without a doubt, the place serves a camp of lost souls who have dragged by untimely circumstances.

I just can’t explain the exact feeling whenever I step my foot there, all I know is when I’m in Baguio, I will be fine.

The uncertainty in the pandemic is what truly worries not only just me but many of us. Don’t get me wrong, I am more worried about our country, for our dear frontliners, and especially the sick ones.

Wholly, I just kept on thinking about existence and the future of the next generation. Is this the kind of life they deserve to live on?

We owe ourselves a breather after everything. Not just in Baguio but also to the places you felt like home.

We all can make it, hang in there!
