After a series of disasters for the past weeks, yes, we maybe need a BREAK!
Students, youth groups, and netizens have stepped up and urged educational institutions to declare an “academic break” as educators and students try to recover from the aftermath of Typhoon Ulysses.

Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), and the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) have taken the call, and starting this week, classes will be suspended to allow affected students and teachers to recover from the impact of recent calamities that hit the country.
On Facebook, ADMU announced that all synchronous and asynchronous activities are suspended from November 16 to 21 to allow students and faculty to recover. Synchronous classes will still be suspended from November 23 to 28, however, asynchronous activities will resume.

PUP will also allow students and faculty members to recover from the impact of Typhoon #UlyssesPH, the university decided for an academic break on all year levels in the MAIN CAMPUS, and ALL BRANCHES AND SATELLITE CAMPUSES, from November 16 to 27, 2020.
It’s also good news for the green archers out there ‘cause academic workload will be eased for November 16 to 21, moving all deadlines to succeed weeks, according to a recent Help Desk Announcement.
Also, The Samahan ng Progresibong Kabataan (SPARK) is one with the call for the academic recess.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the group said: “we in SPARK encourage and support all initiatives by student governments and campus organizations to push for an academic break, in order to demand pro-student policies, and for accountability from the Duterte regime in its criminal neglect in handling the onslaught of typhoons, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the economic crisis, and the crumbling education sector.”
Meanwhile, the call for other universities is yet to be decided by the admins so the online ‘rage’ is still spiking as of writing.
